Terrace Installation Best Practices
Operating an advertising balloon on a building terrace requires attention to anchor points and wind dynamics. Over 30 years of manufacturing and on-site support in Delhi NCR, we have developed a clear checklist for corporate operators.
1. Choosing Secure Structural Anchor Points
Never tie balloon tethers to PVC rainwater downpipes, lightweight air conditioning outdoor brackets, or temporary metal railings. Secure anchors must be heavy structural elements such as reinforced concrete pillars, lift machine room eye-bolts, or heavy steel girders.
2. Multi-Point Bridle Distribution
Rather than relying on a single vertical tether line, use a 3-point or 4-point bridle arrangement. This spreads wind gust loads across multiple corners of the building, preventing excessive sway and keeping the printed logo facing the desired traffic direction.
3. Wind Speed Operating Limits
Standard 10ft commercial balloons operate safely in wind speeds up to 25 to 28 km/h. When severe thunderstorm warnings (aandhi) or winds exceeding 35 km/h are expected, the balloon should be pulled down to terrace level and deflated or tied firmly to prevent seam strain.
